Picture Perfect

• Ex-Idol fave Adam Lambert looks very Elvis-esque (OK, except maybe for the earring) on this month's cover of Details magazine. We were very surprised by Adam's seemingly flawless complexion on this cover. Details usually portrays flaws, showing large pores and scars, but not this month. Adam does seem a little diva-ish -- perhaps he requested a beauty pageant Photoshopping?

• Diane Keaton looks very polished on this month's cover of More magazine, perhaps a little too polished ... she is 63 years old, after all, and she has wrinkles and flaws. We have an issue with this magazine staff's editorial choices on its covers. It's tagline is 'Celebrating Women 40+', but glossing over a 63-year-old acting icon to make her look 35 doesn't seem very celebratory.

• Oh, Tina Fey, you know not to pose with the plastic chicken, but did you ever think they would give you plastic skin? Sorry if the 30 Rock reference doesn't translate for you, but you really should check her out on the show. • Actress Kristen Stewart is on the cover of Allure this month looking a little thin. She is thin to start with, but maybe not so much her nose. That seems to have slimmed down a little, too.

• They do this almost every month; we aren't surprised anymore and are getting pretty bored with Lucky's covers. It's a case of the very very large head, attached the very very small body. Poor Rachel Bilson! She is a tiny thing anyway, but she has a cute figure. Why did they make her look like her poor body is wasting away?

• Are you ready for your extreme, extreme, close-up, 39-year-old Claudia Schiffer? Most people don't even like to look at themselves in the mirror this closely. It's so close you should be able to see every little freckle, every little flaw, but we don't see any, do you?

• Clearly we don't expect anyone to think they really shot arrows into Ricky Gervais for the November cover of Esquire, but we think this is a case of when you can use Photoshop to have fun. They didn't dramatically alter his appearance, they just used an editing program to create a fictional statement. It's clearly fantasy, not another actress or model made up to look the way fashion magazine editors think women should look. This is a remake of one of the most well known Esquire covers of all time -- boxing great Muhammad Ali also appeared pierced with arrows on a cover from April 1968. • So there might not be anything inherently wrong with this cover of Katie Holmes, but it is such a boring cover. We can call out that she has Barbie skin, too, but the worst crime is the sheer blandness of it all.
