Picture Perfect

• We aren't sure exactly how they did it, but Vanessa's head seems to be flipped on this InStyle Poland cover. In ALL her pictures, her bangs are parted like in the photo on the right. The pose looks so awkward. It sort of looks like her torso is backwards, but we played around the image and when we flipped her head, the image looked normal. Her hair lined up almost perfectly. Unfortunately due to copyright issues, we can publish that image. But do your own experiment! Other airbrush violations via Poland appear to be a much slimmer and elongated face.

• W is not known for their realistic looking covers and the October cover does not disappoint. Uma Thurman looks chic and thin and somewhat vapid. We prefer the more healthy looking Uma on the right.

• Kurv. Magazine features a very Photoshopped Kim Kardashian as Barbie, shot by photographer Tony Duran. Tony Duran says, "What Barbie represents to me is a sort of a timeline of women in American history -- all packaged up in a bit over the top- almost unachievable figure. A bit of Jessica rabbit does the history channel! In my mind -- Barbie is at best- a blonde -- so when the outrageously curvy Kim Kardashian called and said she was going blonde for the week, it was game on ..." Well, we aren't quite sure about Duran's interpretation of Barbie, but she does look similar to her herself in some of the pics. On the cover you can see her eye's were made larger, her cheeks pulled in, and her lips puffed.

• If Jennifer Love Hewitt wasn't slouching in the pic on the right, would these images be that different? Clearly her thighs have been slimmed, but her pose helps disguise a lot of her flaws. She is covering her most problematic area with her left hand. The bikini top is clearly more supportive (although we're not convinced it's that supportive). All we're trying to say is the pose really does make a difference. She has lost a lot of weight and looks great and healthy. Our friends over at Popeater made a very good point -- it's just more offensive when health and fitness magazine's airbrush.

• Whitney has made quite a comeback this year. After everything she has been through, it is surprising this 46-year-old has kept her looks. Kevin Costner once called Houston a natural beauty and we have to agree. When we first saw the Ebony cover we though it was very Photoshopped, but after comparing with other recent pics of her, she is undeniably gorgeous. And that skin!

• Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page appear together on the cover of this month's Marie Claire. Both women are natural beauties. They look absolutely flawless on the cover, maybe even a bit too flawless?

• This cover is a refreshing change. Sela Ward looks beautiful, like herself, and she looks her age. There are few touches and nice lighting helps, but why the awful pose? It makes my neck hurt just looking at it.

• For those who don't know her, this is Ashley Greene. She stars in the new Twilight movie: 'New Moon.' We don't love this cover. We actually think she looks better in regular red carpet shots. They mutilated her neck, removing bones and lines, making it look very short, which it's not. Her mole was also removed and it looks as if they tried to bring in her cheeks a little. We don't think natural beauty needs their airbrushing help next time.

• Yet another Photoshopped cover of Uma Thurman showed up this month. This is Marie Claire Czech Republic. The lighting on the photo on the right is not favorable but it was the closest shot to emulate her pose. What do you think? Do they favor airbrushing in Czech Republic?
