HOW TO PLAY
When you begin the game, select a new game that you want to play by choosing one of the 5 faces on the ―Choose World screen. Name your game and you're ready to go! A slide show will begin explaining Good Energy to you. First, you will be able to explore Zecora Valley, home of the Zebras and Zebra Totem. Find the Zebra Totem and it will tell you what to do next.
Activity Bar
The Activity Bar is a bar that shows up at the bottom of the screen whenever you click on an animal. It allows you to know what you can do with the animal you have selected. When you first meet an animal you will be able to Pet and Feed them. The better friends you become, the more activities you will be able to do. Eventually when you know each other well enough you will be able to Direct Control the animal and play games like Ring Toss or Drum Game.
Direct Control
Once you become Best Friends with an animal (indicated by the heart at the left corner of the screen being Red) you will be able to Direct Control your animal. You can Direct Control them by going to the Activity Bar and selecting the Plum Bob icon. You will know you are in Direct Control because there will be a Plum Bob icon over the head of your animal.
Animal Totems
On every land there is at least one Animal Totem. This Totem is your door to the animal world. It will tell you what is going on, and how you can help the animals on the land. Make sure you talk to the Animal Totems on each land, and if you are ever stuck, go check with the Animal Totem, it will tell you what to do next.
Using Talents
Every animal has a special Talent. You can use this Talent by pressing the A Button when you are Direct Controlling them.
Taking Care of the Animals
You can tell how your animal is feeling by looking at the bar that appears on the left side of your screen when you have the animal selected. You will be able to tell what kind of relationship you have with the animal, whether the animal is Hungry, Thirsty, or if they are having enough Fun. You will also be able to tell what level of skill they have for Strength and Charm.
Skills
All animals have Strength and Charm skills. You can increase these skills by playing games with the animals and by Petting them. When animals level up, they get cool markings on their skin so you can tell what animals have high levels from far away.
Goals and Challenges
To view what Goals and Challenges you have completed or have yet to complete, press the + Button. A Goals menu will appear and a puzzle piece tab displays what Challenges you can complete on that particular land.
TIPS AND STRATEGIES
Baby animals are innocent and particularly impressionable (even baby predators). If a lion cub befriends a baby zebra, that lion might grow up to think twice about eating that specific zebra. Adult animals can also become friends with a predator or prey. Using level 1 or 2 Charm frolic is the easiest way.
Once you help out a certain Animal Totem, you will gain the ability to become an Animal Wrangler and can pick up animals. Drag them into your Backpack when you would like to take them to another area. Remember, only animals that are best friends with you can be placed in your Backpack!
To get fruit out of bushes and trees, use a zebra, giraffe, or rhino to knock them out. This is much faster than waiting for the fruit to fall out on its own.
Look for the Giant Milly Bug when you play SimAnimalsTM Africa. You can find it in The Oasis, where the Hippos live. Feeding it to any animal makes the animal tiny!
All of the animals in SimAnimalsTM Africa have special Talents. Animals that have higher skills have stronger Talents. Play with your animals to give them higher level skills so that they will be more powerful in the wild kingdom!EA

Gazelles are jumpy little creatures. They can dodge Lions. When a Gazelle dodges a Lion, they entice the Lion to chase them, and then the Gazelle can dodge again to prevent the Lion from eating them. Look out though, sometimes not all Gazelles dodge successfully… and then they become lunch.
